How you pay with Bitcoin
Sats in LightningBlocks can sit in three places: an ingame balance, an LNBits wallet on our server, or your own Lightning wallet. All of them represent Bitcoin sats, but they are not the same thing technically. Ingame balance is a database entry — not a payment on the Lightning Network. LNBits and your own wallet use Lightning as the payment rail.
1. Ingame balance
Your sats are tracked in the game database. Payments happen inside the game — no Lightning invoice for each action. Ingame sats are backed by sats the server holds until you withdraw.
Best for: instant, one-click payments while playing.
2. LNBits wallet
With an account you get a wallet on our LNBits server. LNBits balance is on Lightning (real invoices, real channels on our node), but we hold the keys — custodial, like many mobile “Lightning wallets.” Mobile wallets like BlueWallet or Zeus can connect to it, and you can pay real invoices from that balance.
Best for: real Lightning without approving every single payment in your own wallet.
3. Your own wallet
Use any Lightning wallet you control. For each payment you scan or paste the invoice yourself.
To move sats out of ingame balance, you can:
- create a Lightning invoice in your wallet, enter it ingame, and the server pays it, or
- withdraw to a Lightning address.
To withdraw from your LNBits wallet, you can:
- use the Account page — enter a Lightning invoice there,
- open lnbits.lightning-fun.com directly — the LNBits UI still works even if LightningBlocks is down, or
- use a connected third-party app such as BlueWallet or Zeus.
Best for: self-custody. Withdraw when you are done playing.
Keep custodial balances small
Ingame balance and LNBits are custodial. We are not a bank. Keep only a small amount on the site and withdraw to a wallet you control when you are done playing. The site or node can go down; we do not guarantee you can always withdraw immediately.
If you play without an account and close the browser window, guest sats can be lost.
Trust vs convenience
You are not locked into one mode. Deposit and withdraw between layers as you like.
| Less trust, less convenience | More trust, more convenience | |
|---|---|---|
| Who holds keys | You (your wallet) | Server (ingame or LNBits) |
| Each payment | Approve in your wallet | Deducted automatically |
| When to use | If you prefer self-custody. Withdraw when you are done playing. | While actively playing |
Low trust: Withdraw sats to your own wallet (invoice or Lightning address). Pay each event from your wallet — you approve every payment.
High trust: Use ingame balance or LNBits. The server can deduct sats when you trigger events, so gameplay stays instant without opening your wallet each time.
Middle ground: If you are OK trusting the server up to a certain amount, turn on auto-withdraw — for example, “withdraw when balance exceeds 100 sats.” You keep a small ingame balance for quick payments; anything above your limit is sent to your Lightning address automatically.
FAQ
Is this just fake ingame coins?
As long as sats sit in the ingame database, many people would say that is not Bitcoin yet — and they have a point. It is an entry in a database, like in many other games, until you withdraw or move them to a real Lightning wallet. That is the trade-off: convenience vs holding Bitcoin yourself. You can withdraw every single sat you earn, but then you also pay a real Lightning invoice whenever you want to pay for something ingame.
Do I have to confirm every payment in my wallet?
Only on the non-custodial path. With an account and ingame or LNBits balance, payments can be instant without opening your wallet each time.
What should I use?
Playing casually → ingame balance or LNBits. Done for the day → withdraw to your wallet. Long-term or maximum control → non-custodial only.
If you are OK trusting the server up to a certain amount, set auto-withdraw with a threshold — for example, “withdraw when balance exceeds 100 sats.” You get convenience for small balances, and sats above your limit go to your Lightning address without you doing anything.
